E siamo all'ammazzatoio.
_______
“Grumi” (Lumps) are the memories that, as the years go by, acquire an insistence and a weight that they hadn't when they were experienced.
The light of distant summer afternoons solidifies, actions crystallize, faces are veiled and words get lost.
What remains is a timeless mistery and the fear of what we have forgotten.
Pleasure becomes the harpoon that keeps us anchored to the present, a Here and Now which includes no After.
But if the After comes, the dawn of the new day is a plague, sunset is a livid and the night is a wolf's throat;
if the After doesn't come therefore tragedy arrives and it tears the meaning guarded in human hearts.
But what meaning?
The meaning we have built, the meaning we pretend to balance over the flashes of the storm when the only law is not to fall.
Then doubt arises: to stand perched on memories and to continue in our fiction or to drop these lumps of strategies and habits good only to survive?
And once we have been descaled, stripped even of the name they gave us, is there nothing left or does something new appears?
Will it be only dark or can we hope in a bright darkness?
The God of “Grumi” is Ego, the aim is always that of Nietzsche: to kill God.
And so we are at the carnage.
After the massacre of fictions, the void opens up, an abyss that cannot be overcome by going around it but that must be crossed.
You stare at the vertigo and you can't go back.
This apparently frightening void actually represents the space-no space for a new meaning that has never been experienced before.
It is the land where our separated being sets: we cease to be individuals, appetites calm down and concern dissolves in a supreme tranquillity imbued with purpose.
But what will give us the strength to walk on this empty land, without support or footholds, where exposing ourselves to the flash of plenitude and ecstatic fusion with life?
“Grumi” is the waiting for the wind that pushes our souls.
And our most vivid memory will be:”When that wind arrived, we were waiting for it”.
